This touching memorial ornament was commissioned by fellow teacher and counselor J.B. for her late father’s memorial tree. Students L.J. and K.C. took on this project and used letter stamps for the inscription, liver of sulfur to darken the letters, and some gorgeous wirework and an added heart charm hanging from the bottom. J.B. was incredible touched, and will cherish this gift. Thank you so much, L.J. and K.C. for being so keen to create this!
These extra projects were designed and created by Grade 11 student K.C. – WOW! Pitbull was sweat-soldered and had a small heart charm added with a jump ring, and both projects were intricately cut by hand using a jewellers’ saw.

Early 2020 Grade 12 student B.G. really took to casting, and used his artistic skills to custom-carve his own sterling silver skull ring (in-process and completed photos here). We decided to finish off his ring with a liver-of-sulfur patina to give it a darker sheen, and it turned out SO good!

This project was lovingly hand-carved and shaped by A.K., a top student in Jewelry 10 in Fall 2019! Cast out of sterling silver, this project featured geometric angles created with a file and sandpaper, as well as a carved centre detail. Excellent work, A.K.!
K.G. in Grade 11 went above and beyond set projects in 2019 and created these gorgeous wire-work silver earrings. All shaping and soldering was done by hand, and they turned out beautifully. Excellent work!
Students in both Junior and Senior Jewelry get to try their hand at ring-making, and create progressively more challenging projects. These students decided to try their hand at a ‘braided’ and intro to ‘filigree’ ring, where they up-cycled old electrical wire and annealed with a torch as they shaped it. In Spring 2019, a few students decided to try their hand at creating some copper enamelling pieces, with some incredible results! Earrings hand cut, domed, and enamelled by C.H. and V.P. in Grade 11. Belt buckle (first attempt at enamelling this project!) done by V.P.
WOW! V.P. in Grade 11 tried her hand at this intermediate ring project, and it turned out beautifully. Advanced skills included wire wrapping, multiple complex solders, and shaping.
Some incredible work by our Spring 2019 Senior Jewelry students! Featured here are a brass and a sterling version of the Russian Wedding Band (three interlocking rings), and a copper/silver sweat-soldered ring made by L.M. in Grade 11. Excellent work, everyone!
